JNBS, Windalco, Kirkvine SC win in club TT
AS the JTTA National Table Tennis Club League continued on the weekend, hosts JNBS defeated Gioventu 3-1 in a Division One clash of newcomers last Saturday.
On Sunday, in two matches hosted by Windalco Kirkvine Sports Club against newcomers Digicel, the hosts won 4-1 in Division Three and won by default in Division Four.
In individual results in the JNBS/Gioventu Division One encounter, Emani McPherson won two singles matches for JNBS, turning back both Michael Cai and Don-Walker Petinaud by similar 3-1 scores. In doubles, Christopher Marsh and Maurice Salkey outplayed Cai and Petinaud 3-1, for JNBS’ three victories. Simon Tomlinson trounced Marsh 3-0, to pull one back for Gioventu.
In the Windalco Kirkvine Sports Club versus Digicel Division Three duel, Rij Findlay and Patrick Clarke crushed Nathan Kellyman and Kwame Gordon by identical 3-0 scores and Jason Welsh stopped Derrick Rowe 3-1, in singles matches.
In doubles, Findlay and Welsh overpowered Michen Wallace and Gordon 3-0, for Windalco Kirkvine Sports Club’s four wins. Christopher Peart eased past Brandon James 3-0, for Digicel’s consolation victory.
The League continues today at 7:00 pm with UWI at home to BOJ in Division Two, in the Students’ Union Hall.
