Style icon: Christina Ricci oozes old Hollywood glamour as she picks up a Style Award

People Post

She certainly isn’t the first actress who springs to mind when thinking of a fashion icon.

But Christina Ricci proved her worthiness on Monday night by stepping out in a chic and sophisticated ensemble to pick up a Style Evolution Award.

The 30-year-old actress scooped the prize at the 14th Annual ACE Awards presented by the Accessories Council at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York.

For the occasion she wore a strapless patterned dress with black tights and black patent pumps.

Her hair was swept back in a classic low chignon paired with 50s-inspired make-up — red lipstick and black eye-liner.

The actress is currently appearing on Broadway in the Tony Award nominated Time Stands Still, alongside Laura Linney and Brian D’Arcy James.

Feeling broody: Janet Jackson insists ‘I am NOT engaged’ but confesses ‘I’d love to have a family’

At 44 years of age Janet Jackson is hearing the loud tick-tock of her biological clock.

And although things are not as serious with her boyfriend, Wissam Al Mana, as has been reported Jackson has confessed that she is keen to start a family.

“I’d love to have a family,” Janet says. “But really, it’s in God’s hands. So, if it’s meant to be, I’ll have one. I hope it does.”

The interview with Leno and Access Hollywood are part of her promotional press for Jackson’s new movie, For Colored Girls.

The interviews showed the star back to her slim self, following the trauma of brother Michael’s death last year.

Her constantly yo-yoing weight had soared after the tragedy, but yesterday Janet was relaxed and smiling as she chatted with Leno.

In addition to the new movie, Janet is entering the publishing world with her upcoming self-help book, True You.

Tyler Perry’s For Colored Girls hits US cinemas on November 5.

Little and Large: Vertically opposed Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian head out in NYC (with their film crew in tow)

It was one of the first days of filming for their new reality show Kim and Kourtney Take New York but one person was noticeably absent — Kim Kardashian.

The socialite and reality star was resting in her hotel after breaking her toe, leaving sisters Kourtney and Khloe to go ahead without her.

The Kardashian sisters headed over to Paige Premium Denim in SoHo, New York, on Wednesday to pick out some new jeans and took their reality show camera crew along for the ride.

Khloe, 26, and Kourtney, 31, have a ten-inch height difference, with Khloe being five foot ten and Kourtney being only five feet, making them appear unusually mismatched as they walked down the city sidewalk.

The girls are documenting the opening of their New York store Dash in the new reality show due to air in the new year.

Khloe, who co-owns the other Dash stores with her sisters, has flown into New York to help with some of the store set-up.

She had initially chosen not to make the full-time move to the city so that she could be near her husband Lamar Odom, who plays basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kourtney, however, is contemplating making New York her permanent home.

She and long-term boyfriend Scott Disick have had well-documented problems in their relationship, but see the move to New York as being a chance for a fresh start, along with their ten-month-old son Mason.

Janet Jackson talks about her diet and having a baby, on theJay Leno Show.
