Bail denied for alleged pickpocket
MONTEGO BAY, St James — TREVOR Salmon of Catherine Hall was on Monday denied bail when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court on charges of robbing a woman along Barnett Street on December 7th.
The court heard that despite the accused man not being held with the purse that was taken from the complainant, it was heard he made a call that resulted in the item being returned.
The allegations are that the complainant was walking along Barnett Street when she felt someone bump into her and she turned to see the accused man.
It was heard she checked her possessions and discovered that her purse was missing and gave chase of the man who it was heard also changed his hat.
Salmon was taken to the police station where the court heard he made a call and the purse was returned to the owner.
Salmon was remanded in police custody and will return to court on January 5th at which time his police records should also be presented.
