Welcoming the new year in 3-D
Party patrons may not have gotten a playground on the moon as expected, but the hundreds who turned out at the Digicel 3D cinematic party on New Year’s Eve definitely welcomed the dawning of 2011 in fine style.
With an increase in anxiety for the approaching year the party goers at Hope Botanical Gardens started the celebration a few minutes to midnight on Friday. Kissing couples, happy singles and tons of fireworks signalled the transition from one year to another.
On the dancefloor, Vybz kartel, Movado, Lady Saw and Buju Banton ruled. The fever heightened courtesy of the music being played by the selectors from Coppershot, who blazed some of the hottest dancehall, disco and soca music through the speakers.
The extremely polite bar tenders and sexy waitresses were kept busy thoughout the night supplying thirsty patrons or those who just wanted to be kept in high spirits. If all that dancing and frolicking opened the taste buds, no need to worry, a tasty seafood and other salivating treats were available. Also for those who just wanted to laise and not dance up a sweat had an option to to a private Cabana. There, guests were offered the royal treatment with a personal wait service and bottle service.
The morning session wound down with wicked jugglings from DJ Electra. The energetic and sexy DJ had the patrons in a frenzy as she selected some of dancehall and hip hop’s finest much to the delight of the females present.
It was nearly five o’clock in the morning, New Year’s Day, when the Observer team made their exit from the Digicel 3D Party — a party that was still in full swing.
