Irwin High hosts First Chance Meet
IRWIN, St James — THE County of Cornwall Athletics Association’s (COCAA) track and field season will continue this Saturday with the third staging of the First Chance Meet at Irwin High School, set to start at 9:30 am.
Athletes from over 20 affiliated high schools are expected to participate in the meet that will see competition in track events from 100m to 15,000m for both sexes and in all classes.
There will also be competition in all classes for both male and female in the shot put event, as well as a 4x400m relay.
COCAA kicked off their schedule last year with the staging of the Cross Country, which was hosted by Spot Valley High.
The Mannings Development Meet, which has not been held in two years, is expected to return on January 22. It will feature middle-and long-distance races, as well as field events; while the STETHS Invitational will be held on January 29.
The three-day Milo COCAA Western Champs is set for March 1, 3 and 5.
