Fastest sport meets fastest man
Hurling, known as the fastest field game in the world, and the world’s fastest man Usain Bolt, will cross paths today at the recently opened Chukka Adventure Tours in a Digicel promotion.
The 2010 All-Ireland Hurling Champions are to spend the day with Bolt at the adventure park in Trelawny, where the team will also have a chance to teach the sprint sensation the basics of the “fastest playing game in the world”.
The 98-member contingent, consisting of 31 players, 15 game officials, two coaches, captain, key partners and supporters, have been vacationing at the Beaches Boscobel Resort since January 2, to celebrate winning the 2010 Championships.
According to Gerard Ryan, the team’s manager, “we’re all very excited about meeting Usain Bolt”.
“The team has reached the top in this indigenous sport in Ireland and so meeting the world’s top athlete is a tremendous opportunity for us (and) will definitely be one of the main highlights of our trip here in Jamaica,” said Ryan.
