Holland, Rhodes Hall hunt U-16 basketball crown
MONTEGO BAY, St James — A first-time champion will be crowned today when Holland High of Trelawny and Rhodes Hall High of Hanover meet in the third and decisive game of the ISSA/KFC Western Conference Under-16 basketball final at the Montego Bay Cricket Club, starting at 3:30 pm.
The series is tied at one game apiece after Rhodes Hall won the first game 46-44 on Tuesday and Holland responded with a big 55-36 win in Thursday’s game two.
Cornwall College are the Under-20 champions after turning back Mannings School 2-0 in their series.
Holland High’s win on Thursday could today give them the momentum as they seek their first-ever ISSA title.
But for eight straight missed free throws by Holland in the first game, the series could have been wrapped up as they have outplayed Rhodes Hall in both games.
Diminutive guard Clifton Shettleworth, Okairie Edwards and Cornell Draggon are the players expected to lead the charge for Holland against the six-foot-plus Oshawn Davis, Leon Moncrieff and Ewan Symester for Rhodes Hall.
