Frome seek positive result against Mt Pelier
FROME, Westmoreland — Frome FC will this afternoon seek to end a three-game winless streak when they host Mt Pelier in one of two rescheduled games this afternoon as the first round of the Captain’s Bakery/Western Confederation Super League draws to a close.
Frome were in contention for a place in the midseason final set for Sunday before back-to-back losses knocked them out of the runnings.
The Westmoreland team is still in third place with 17 points, however, but just a point ahead of Mt Pelier, who are coming off a 4-0 win over Harmony in Sunday’s round of matches.
The teams shared their two meetings last season, each team winning 2-0 at home.
In the other game today, Hanover clubs Bamboo and Cousin’s Cove will meet in a clash of last-placed teams at Bamboo.
On Tuesday, Exidos came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Russia. Kingsley James’ seventh-minute goal gave Russia the lead, but Tajay Moore hit back in the 56th to earn a point for his team.
