Imij and Company for Bacchanal
SOCA firecrackers Imij and Company is set to perform a rock-star set at tonight’s Bacchanal Fridays event, especially with lead singer Michelle Xavier’s Fettin’ for Days hot off the soca monarch stage.
The versatile group has been a part of the Bacchanal Jamaica family for over ten years and is always welcomed for their unique ability to blend genres such as rock, alternative, dance and pop with soca.
Fettin’ for Days worked its way up as a roadworthy Soca and fans are expected to enjoy a live performance from Imij.
In 2001, the group formerly known as Second Imij changed their name to Imij and Company, added new membership and started their trek through this musical landscape of Caribbean pop/ dance music.
Hot off the heels of St Vincent and the Grenadines’ Skinny Fabulous charged up performance last week, next week will feature Cassie and Lil Bits with DJ Smoke of Rennaissance, two of Trinidad’s groovy crooners. Cassie a newcomer has been riding the airwaves with his whimsical Take a wine on a town ting.
Tonight’s show will be hosted by sponsor Smirnoff .
According to Marsha Lumley, brand manager for Smirnoff, this special night should not be missed as the brand will be taking the vibe and excitement to another level.
“The Carnival festivities will be kicked up a notch this Friday when Smirnoff takes over Mas Camp,” Lumley said. “Friday night will provide consumers with a taste of what we have in store for them for the rest of the Bacchanal season, including Smirnoff Beach J’Ouvert and the Road March,” she added.
She further disclosed that the first thousand consumers will get a Smirnoff Access Card for the official after party at Club Privilege, which allows patrons admission at half the entry fee.
Added to all of this, Friday’s event will feature Trinidadian soca band Imij and Company. “Smirnoff is proud to welcome Imij and Company. to the Bacchanal stage,” Lumley commented.
Over the past two weeks Smirnoff has offered consumers an opportunity to sample the concept of the Russian Palace. The glorious and imposing structure is in keeping with the Bacchanal theme Once upon a dynasty.
