It’s time for Iwer
Mas Camp in the Corporate Area is expected to come alive again tonight for another staging of the popular Bacchanal Fridays.
This week, sponsors Appleton and Pure Country partner to treat socaphiles to a performance by soca act Iwer George aka The Big Man in the Business. The Trinidadian is said to be all lined up to command the Bacchanal Jamaica crowd to Come to Meh with his 2011 soca monarch contender.
Neil ‘Iwer’ George is known as the wave rag king with a collection of soca hits that are so infectious. In 2000 he won his first road-march title in Trinidad with Carnival Come Back Again and has continuously produced road-worthy power soca selections like Ready, Hand and The People Want Water. Now 11 years later his J’ouvert inspired griping hit Come to Meh highlights his ability to produce great soca music.
Iwer’s controversial songs like Bottom in the Road play on the female form displayed during Carnival. It’s songs like these that really show Iwer’s lyrical talent as he’s also famed as a songwriter.
Pure Country’s premium juice blends coupled with Appleton Spirits make for a sweet intoxication alongside The Big Man in the Business — Iwer George and DJ Smoke from Renaissance.
