Alicia Keys denies claims she began relationship with Swizz Beatz before he split from ex-wife

Multi-platinum artist Alicia Keys has opened up about her scandalised love life for the new issue of Essence magazine. After being branded a ‘home-wrecker’ by some media and bloggers, Alicia is maintaining that she did nothing wrong and that her husband, Swizz Beatz, was completely separated from his ex-wife before they got together. “We didn’t start seeing each other until months after they had separated,” she said. “I was aware of all the false things that were being said about me; it definitely hurt,” added the 30-year-old. Alicia married Swizz, real name Kasseem Dean, in July last year in Corsica while she was six months pregnant with his child. Swizz, a music producer, was previously married to the No Panties R&B singer Mashonda Tifrere, 33, with whom he has a son. The union between Alicia and Swizz exploded in the media when Tifrere posted a letter online saying that Alicia had “assisted in destroying a family,” and did a series of ‘tell-all’ interviews. Swizz and Tifrere’s divorce was finalised in May 2010 and Alicia and Swizz announced their engagement less than a month later. Bloggers went wild, accusing Alicia of being a home-wrecker and calling her names.

“Things are really good now,” said Alicia who also revealed that her love with Dean is “intoxicating and whole”. “Kasseem is very present in his children’s lives. I wouldn’t be able to love him otherwise,” said the 14-time Grammy winner. “We are doing what is best for the children,” she added. Her son with Swizz, Egypt, was born in October. He is named after the African country because Alicia took a trip there to release the pressure and stress of her success.

Cateherine Zeta-Jones parades around movie set with hair in curlers

She has been fighting a high-profile battle against bipolar disorder.

And the ordeal appeared to have taken its toll on Catherine Zeta-Jones as she arrived on the set of her latest film. She looked less than her usual curvaceous self in a tight-fitting costume during the filming of Lay The Favourite, in Louisiana. The 41-year-old actress was spotted last Thursday on the film set between scenes wearing rollers in her hair. She recently had treatment for her health problems, which were triggered by husband Michael Douglas’s battle with throat cancer. Douglas, 66, said his wife had managed to conceal her condition from him before she sought help. He said: “It’s hard for your wife to say, ‘I’m depressed’. It’s probably been going on for a while. But I wasn’t really aware of it. You know Catherine and Brits in general… They always give the stiff upper lip.” Last month Miss Zeta-Jones revealed she had sought treatment for bipolar II disorder, spending five days at a mental health facility in Connecticut.

Shania Twain had panic attack when confronting best friend who ‘stole’ her husband

It was the worst betrayal imaginable. Her best friend had been having an affair with her husband of 15 years and she had found out about it the day after he asked for a divorce. Now Shania Twain, 45, has recounted the moment she confronted “the other woman” and said she suffered a panic attack when she came face to face with Marie-Ann Thiebaud. But the That Don’t Impress Me Much singer also says that the moment was a let-down because she did not express everything she was feeling due to her high state of anxiety. “I had a total panic attack,” Twain said. “I just told her that she was a bad person — that’s all I could get out!”

“When I left her, I thought, ‘You’re such a wimp, you coward!'”

Shania and Marie-Anne were very close friends. They had met when the 40-year-old was employed to be the assistant and interpreter of singer’s husband, record producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange. “I was ready to die,” she writes in her new book From This Moment On of how she felt after discovering the betrayal. She said she barely ate or slept. But in what has turned out to be a ‘twisted’ piece of irony. Shania and Marie-Anne’s ex-husband turned to each other during their time of need, finding friendship that turned into love. The couple eventually married last January in an intimate beach ceremony in Puerto Rico.
