Woman among four arrested for Kingston robberies
FOUR people — three men and a woman — were arrested and charged for three recent robberies in the Corporate Area, following investigations by officers from the St Andrew Central Police Division and Flying Squad.
Javed Absolam, Garnett Linton and Winston Harris were charged with conspiracy, robbery with aggravation, illegal possession of firearms and receiving stolen property with respect to the robbery on April 6 of Tropical Jewellers on Constant Spring Road. All three are from Rose Town in Kingston and are members of the Discipline Gang which is based in Rose Town.
Additionally, Absolam was charged with robbery with aggravation, illegal possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property following the robbery of a cellular store on Hagley Park Road in Kingston on March 21, 2011. Also slapped with the same charges for the Hagley Park Road robbery was Absolam’s girlfriend, Teneisha Gettin.
