Fletcher leads Treadlight to win in Lloyd Plummer League
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Roberto Fletcher scored a hat-trick as Treadlight opened their account in the Central Clarendon/INSPORTS/Lloyd Plummer Memorial Summer League with a 3-1 defeat of Cemetery Road on Sunday at West Park.
Fletcher gave Treadlight a 22nd-minute lead, but it took Cemetery Road just two minutes to draw level through Moshell Bryan’s strike.
Humble Lion striker Fletcher restored his team’s advantage heading into the half-time break, before returning for his treble in minute 76.
With the victory, Treadlight joined Bushy Park and Street Side atop Zone One on three points, while Cemetery Road stayed bottom without a point following a second successive defeat.
Earlier in the day, Race Track (Traxx), behind a first-half brace from Leon Watkiss, blanked New Roadsville 3-0 to go top of Zone Two on four points.
Watkiss scored the opening goal on 11 minutes, before doubling his tally four minutes before the break.
Dejon Johnson, with his second goal of the competition, then completed an easy win for Traxx in the 49th minute.
