‘Good angle for Hurricane Irene story

Dear Editor,

I read your August 29 article “Preparedness defeats Irene” which was a good angle for the story. However, I think the key issue was not so much preparedness as mitigation.

I note the quote that states that the (Beaches Turks and Caicos) resort was built to avoid flooding, and to code – these are the key elements which led to the limited damage. Hopefully your readers will make the connection.

Good idea to focus on this theme rather than just damage, though!
