Highgate United rally denies Harbour View
BUFF BAY, Portland — Newcomers Highgate United rallied to earn a 2-2 draw with former champions Harbour View at Lynch Park in their National Premier League game yesterday.
Harbour View’s goals were scored by Rafeik Thomas (1st) Own goal (12th) while Donovan Davis (62nd) and Romeo Parkes (93rd) scored for Highgate.
Harbour View took the lead in the first minute when a Jermaine Hue free-kick found Thomas who fired past Highgate custodian Rodney Hamilton.
Harbour View went further ahead when they earned another free kick close to where the last was taken and Hue again crossed and the ball went in off a defender to make it 2-0.
Hue, Harbour View’s talisman, was substituted half an hour into the game due to injury. His absence was clearly felt as Highgate started to gain the ascendancy.
They pulled a goal back Davis latched on to a free kick from Richard Orrett and expertly beat Michaud Barrett in the Harbour View goal. Parkes then got the equaliser late on when he let fly with a left-footed scorcher.
