Jeremy Bembridge leads men’s 400m qualifiers
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jeremy Bembridge led the men’s 400m qualifiers after he ran 45.84 seconds to win his first round heat on Thursday’s opening day of the JAAA national championships at the National Stadium.
Bembridge, who is part of the Racers Track Club set up, battled
Kimar Farquharson of Texas A&M University (46.06 seconds), while Bovel McPherson won his heat in 46.83 seconds and advanced to the semi-finals on Friday.
Antonio Watson, World champion in 2023, also advanced after he won his heat in 45.91 seconds, getting the better of Shaemar Uter of Texas Tech University (46.14 seconds), and Emil Gordon of UTech with 46.66 seconds.
Zandrion Barnes is also through after he ran 46.04 seconds, along with Reheem Hayles (46.09 seconds), Demar Francis (47.32 seconds), Delano Kennedy (47.39 seconds) and Javon Francis with 47.64 seconds.
