‘Siri’ leaves them speechless?
Raquel Goddard (centre), LIME’s regional vice-president, enterprise sales; Stephen Price (right), LIME Jamaica’s head of marketing; and Damian Whylie, IT manager at PanCaribbean Financial Services, seem awestruck by the iPhone 4S which features ‘Siri’ — the intelligent assistant that is revolutionising mobile communication. The three executives gave the iPhone 4S a test during an exclusive launch function at LIME’s flagship store on Half-Way-Tree Road in Kingston last Friday. LIIME said the Jamaican debut of Apple’s iPhone 4S has been a resounding success, with the feature-rich smartphone selling out on the launch day. LIME says the strong demand in Jamaica follows global trends as the iPhone 4S sold more than four million units the first weekend it went on sale in the US. In China, where the launch coincided with the LIME’s rollout across the Caribbean, Apple was forced to halt sales when crowds came close to rioting outside its flagship store in Beijing.
