Five juveniles charged with extortion
FIVE juveniles from Manchester and Clarendon were last week charged for Breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act. The charges laid upon them were Extortion and Conspiracy to extort.
The juveniles were accused of demanding $15,000 from a female teen in order not to publish nude photographs of her, which they had in their possession.
The teens were held last week Tuesday, at the Mandeville Shopping Centre in Manchester during a special operation carried out by members of the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID).
All five juveniles were taken to a place of safety and are to appear before the Mandeville Family Court on Thursday.
