Konshens STILL A WINNER
GARFIELD Spence, more popularly known by the name Konshens, broke onto the music scene in 2005. Since then he has produced other hits like Winner, This Means Money, Gal Dem A Talk, Realest Song and Good Girl Gone Bad.
TEENage spoke with Konshens as he described his musical journey including the challenges, surprises and amazing opportunities.
“All I do is music, I don’t see myself doing anything other than music. I didn’t chose the music it chose me,” he said. He explained that one of his most memorable moments was while he was on tour, when he met a fan who asked him to sign his autograph on his skin. Surprisingly, where the man wanted the autograph already had the lyrics to one of his songs. “Things like that make me realise that my music has an impact on the world.”
Recently, tracks such as Gyal A Bubble, Do Sumn’ and Bad Gal have been tearing up the airwaves and topping music charts all over the world. With the release of his album Mental Maintenance, Konshens has said that now more than ever: “The sky is the limit, my songs have been doing great and I love the support that I’m getting.”
The year 2012 has has been great for the artiste and his plans is to record and release good, clean, conscious music for his fans.
