Masicka launches Forever 1NE Music Festival

Dancehall artiste Masicka is launching a new music festival aimed at supporting local communities and expanding Jamaica’s entertainment reach internationally.

According to a release, the inaugural Forever 1NE Music Festival, supported by Magnum Tonic Wine, was officially launched on Monday, November 2, at D’Ferrano Restaurant and Lounge in Portmore, St Catherine.

The festival is scheduled for December 19 at Caymanas Park, with Dexta Daps and Shaneil Muir among the acts announced for the staging. Additional performers are expected to be revealed.

Masicka said he hopes to make the festival an annual event that gives back to the community while eventually expanding to other Caribbean territories and beyond.

“I want to give back to my community, but also differently, we want to take it outside of Jamaica, to different Caribbean islands, in the [United] States and Europe,” he said.

The artiste said the festival would also provide opportunities for established and emerging performers while bringing fans closer to the music.

Dominic Bell, integrated communications manager at J Wray & Nephew Limited, said the partnership reflects the importance of supporting Jamaica’s entertainment industry and the wider creative economy.

He noted that the sector provides economic opportunities for music producers, performers, vendors, small businesses and content creators.

The festival is being presented by 1Syde Records and Zimi Entertainment, with support from Magnum Tonic Wine, Main Events and Supreme Ventures Limited.
