Election day workers out number voters in Hanover
RIVERSIDE, Hanover- Election workers and security personnel outnumbered voters across the seven divisions in Hanover as voting progressed in the Local Government Elections today.
Election officials reported that voting was slow but some were hopeful the pace would pick up in the afternoon.
Very few lines were seen at the several polling stations visited and workers were seen sitting around.
A close race is anticipated in the Riverside division where former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Mayor Lester Crooks is running as an independent againt the JLP’s Albert Lee.
Riverside is the only division where the People’s National Party has not fielded a candidate.
Another close contest is expected in Chester Castle where the PNP’s Wynter McIntosh will go up against Melvin Archer.
