Help Ras Daniel
DRUMMER Vincent Record (aka Ras Daniel) has dedicated his life to music. Now he is turning to his colleagues in the fraternity for assistance.
Ras Daniel, 79, has prostate cancer and is receiving treatment at the University Hospital of the West Indies.
Presently, his medical expenses are over $170,000.
“Right now I am sick an’ I really need some help. I don’t even have any food to eat,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
From Albert Town, Trelawny, Ras Daniel has played at some momentous events, including Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie’s visit to Jamaica in 1966.
He was among the ‘kete’ drummers whom Britain’s Prince Charles and his wife Camilla ‘jammed’ with at the Bob Marley Museum, when the Royals visited Jamaica in March, 2008.
