Bolt, Asafa, Blake advance to finals

USAIN Bolt recovered from a sluggish start to finish second his 100 metres semi-final behind of Michael Frater to advance to the 100 metres final this evening.

Despite rumours of having flown out of the island late last evening to Miami for precautionary checks on a groin injury Asafa Powell looked in fabulous form as he clocked 9.92 seconds to win heat one of the men’s 100m semi-finals at the National Stadium.

Powell’s MVP teammate Nesta Carter was second in 9.95 while world champion Yohan Blake clocked 9.96 seconds for third.

Kemar Bailey Cole clocked a personal best 10.06 seconds for fourth.
