‘I felt blood coming down my face’

People Post

It was the moment that wrecked his NFL career and broke up his fledgling marriage. And now Evelyn Lozada has spoken out for the first time about the moment her estranged husband Chad Johnson allegedly headbutted her.

The Basketball Wives star left the 34-year-old following the incident, while the Miami Dolphins also dropped him from the team following his arrest for domestic battery on August 11 in Davie, Florida. In an interview on ABC’s Nightline recently, she explains that she found a receipt for condoms in his car as they were driving home and confronted him about it.

She said: “And then the next thing I know, he grabbed me by here (points to her head) and he headbutted me. I felt blood coming down my face, and I looked at him and I said, ‘You just head butted me?’

“And it just — everything just felt as if it was in slow motion.'” It has since been claimed that the former Dancing With The Stars contestant had been bedding a string of mistresses even before the couple were married in July. During her interview, Lozada also revealed she cannot foresee sitting down with her ex again, though she is hoping he seeks professional aid. Her voice quivering with emotion, the 36-year-old said: “It would have to take some time. I love him very much and I think us being away from each other is the right thing.”

She filed for divorce on August 14 saying her marriage was “irretrievably broken”. Johnson is waiting to find out whether he is to be charged over the incident, and was released from jail after posting $2,500 bail. While he had never been arrested during his 12-year NFL career, Johnson was arrested in a domestic dispute while attending college, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Metcalfe says TV Dallas dad Duffy became a surrogate father

When Jesse Metcalfe was first asked to audition for the role of Bobby Ewing’s adopted son Christopher for the TV revamp of Dallas, he said no. “I was very sceptical,” he says. “I thought, ‘How is it a good idea to bring back this 80s soap opera, and how is it going to be relevant to 2012?’ I couldn’t get my mind around it. Then I read the script.”

“After reading the script I really thought they’d nailed it. The characters were so well-developed and interesting. They all have their emotional insecurities and I think that’s what’s at the heart of my character. Christopher was adopted, so ultimately he was abandoned by his biological parents. Because he’s not a blood Ewing, he feels he has to work much harder to prove himself, to make his adoptive father proud.”

Metcalfe said he used his own abandonment issues to get into the role. He said: “I’m estranged from my father, and that relationship, as a young man, is incredibly important. It’s probably responsible for the man I’ve become.”

“I’ve had to learn most lessons the hard way. I never really had that father figure to look up to. I think that’s the reason I’m so ambitious. I felt like I wasn’t appreciated as a child so I wanted to prove my worth as an adult, as an actor.”

And now? Is there someone watching out for him? “Patrick Duffy [Bobby Ewing] could be my new mentor,” Metcalfe says without an ounce of contrivance. “We have a great bond. It’s been very easy for us to slip into our roles as father and son because we have a genuine rapport.”

“He taught me how to ride a horse. We spent a lot of time together. I spent time with him and his wife. He’s very much like his character — a very gracious man.”

Has Connelly taken extreme exercising too far?

She has always been known for her slender frame. But Jennifer Connelly shocked onlookers last Friday when she went for a run in New York City.

The 41-year-old displayed her pencil thin pins and tiny arms as she exuberantly pounded the pavement. The actress also appeared noticeably slimmer around the jawline, her face appearing pale and gaunt. Looking intent on burning the calories, the Beautiful Mind star jogged along with a pair of headphones on her head.

Jennifer’s tight-fitting black leggings particularly highlighted her legs, which have become so slim that her knees appear wider than her actual lower thigh. While always known for her slender frame, Jennifer has been looking increasingly slimmer over the past few months.

She is known to be a fan of exercise, but unlike other keen fitness fanatics, such as Madonna and Cameron Diaz, she appears to continue to shrink in size whilst gaining not as much muscle tone. Jennifer started her career as a model, but she looks to be currently at her tiniest. Jennifer is currently filming Darren Aronofsky directed biblical epic Noah, which also stars Russell Crowe and Emma Watson.
