Businessman remanded for girlfriend’s murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Kingston businessman accused of decapitating the mother of his child and dumping her body in a septic pit in his yard is to appear in court later this month for a bail application.
Trevor Taff — a 48-year-old resident of Havendale, St Andrew — was remanded until September 27 when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning.
According to the police’s report, Nicole Herron, a 26-year-old higgler, went to visit Taff at his Havendale home on April 3 and didn’t return to her home.
The report said that after some time had passed, Herron’s relatives filed a missing person’s report.
On May 5 the police went to Taff’s house where several articles of burnt female clothing were allegedly discovered.
Herron’s headless body was reportedly found with multiple stab wounds in the pit, following a further search of the premises.
Taff was arrested the following day by the police.
