CEO Rainforest Seafoods Ltd, Brian Jardim (right) presents Ariana Williams with her bursary at the recent Scholarship Awards function for employees’ children, held at the Seawind Club in Montego Bay. For the past six years, the company has been making financial contributions to team members by way of covering back-to-school expenses for their children who will attend tertiary- and secondary-level institutions for the first time. This year, the bursaries, valued at $1 million, were presented to 19 students. In addition to the scholarship recipients, the company also presented a bursary valued at $100,000 to Covern Roper, who recently graduated from Herbert Morrison High School and will be attending the University of the West Indies, Mona. Rainforest Seafoods also pledged its continued support to Roper for the duration of his studies at the university. Meanwhile, the parents of students at the lower level of the education system were also provided with book grants to a maximum of $100,000 per student.
