FOR the first time this season, Tivoli Gardens will be firing on all cylinders with the return of Navion Boyd and Dane Kelly from Charleston Battery as they try to halt the giant-killing run of leaders Savannah FC at Frome.

Tivoli, in seventh spot on four points, started their 2012 rebuilding process with a defeat, a win and a draw in their first three games with a relatively young team.

With the return of their goalsscoring machines in 25-year-old Boyd and 21-year-old Kelly, plus the recall of Christopher Jackson to the squad, head coach Glendon “Admiral” Bailey and the West Kingston fans will be much happier.

The Westmoreland-based promoted Savannah have been creating a stir with three-from-three over defending champion Portmore United, Harbour View and fellow promoted team Cavalier.

The boys from the Burnt Savannah community, have proved they are the real article and assistant coach Delroy Delisser is confident of another good showing.

“So far, so good. We just have to keep on doing what we’re doing and we will get the results,” he told the Jamaica Observer as he prepared to watch the daCosta Cup match between STETH and Munro College yesterday.

As for today’s game against Tivoli, Delisser said once they stick to the game plan, they should be victorious.

Meanwhile, with second-placed Arnett Gardens, on seven points, and fourth-placed Boys’ Town, on six, set for a humdinger on Monday night’s Trench Town derby, third-placed Sporting Central, also on six points, could assume leaders if Savannah fail to get a point.

Sporting will host ninth-placed Portmore at Brancourt in a grudge affair after the latter — formerly Hazard United — left Clarendon, switch names and took up residence in St Catherine.

This clash remains a heated one and fans should expects a fast-paced, free-flowing encounter at lush Brancourt.

Fifth-placed Waterhouse, on four points, and Cavalier, a point behind, but five places below in 10th, meet at Drewsland in one of only two games in the Corporate Area.

Waterhouse, with the dangerous Jermaine Anderson up front, will be hard to contain at home and Cavalier will have to be at their best to starve off defeat. However, Cavalier have already brushed aside Portmore, but lost to Savannah after appearing to be in control.

Cavalier will be no pushovers and if they decide to give veteran striker Kevin Lamey a run against his old team, he could be decisive.

Another man with something to prove, Jermaine Hue, is the current leading goalscorer with three goals and he leads Harbour View into battle with the tough tackling, hard-running Humble Lions.

Harbour View are in sixth spot on four points, while the Lenworth Hyde Snr-coached Lion are eighth with three points. Both are in search of win number two.
