Cassie gets oiled up

People Post

She shot to fame as a teenager with her 2006 hit Me & U. And with not much major music success since then, it looks like Cassie is determined to use her adult image to win over a new set of fans.

The singer, who is now 26, appears in the October issue of GQ magazine in a series of striking and sexy images.

The star — whose full name is Cassie Ventura — poses in a bikini top and tiny denim hot pants on one image where she channels a gymnast alongside recognisable rings.

Her skin is covered in plenty of oil to emphasise her curvaceous body and her tied-up locks appear windswept as she peers down the camera lens.

Rumoured to be engaged to rapper P Diddy, Cassie claims she hasn’t been in the spotlight for some time now because she is ‘laid-back’.

Talking about the six-year delay between her self-titled debut album and the soon-to-bereleased sophomore LP, she said: “I’m just a laid-back person. Maybe laid-back to a fault.” She added: “It’s been too long, I know, but I got to start over and over again.”

Game, set, match?

It was shop until you drop in Milan for tennis ace Serena Williams and her tennis coach-turned-rumoured new lover Patrick Mouratoglou .

Williams, 30, shopped to her heart’s content and dropped what looked like a neat bundle in Milan, Italy, last Sunday.

With Mouratoglou, some other attendants, and her little dog in tow, the tennis pro hit the Via Montenapoleone and visited such high-end boutiques as Casadei, Gucci and Dolce and Gabbana.

Even though Williams is muscular, strong and fit, her handsome companion insisted on carrying most of her packages — and there were a lot of them.

For her outing, Williams squeezed her figure into skintight black pants, a pink top and black flats. Mouratoglou looked classy and casual in dark blue jeans and a white shirt opened at the neck.

Williams has been on a European breather of late, with Mouratoglou never far from her side. She deserved some relaxation after garnering the gold at the summer Olympics in the women’s singles and doubles with her sister Venus.

The tennis champ also won at the US Open on September 9, for which she was coached by Mouratoglou.

The claws are back

We all met Hugh Jackman and his six-pack in the X-Men series. But fans will be pleased to know the 43-yearold actor looks just as buff in new spin-off movie, The Wolverine.

A promotional picture of the film was released last Monday, showing the Australian heart-throb flaunting his ripped muscular body in all its half-naked glory.

With a six-pack every man would be envious of, the 43-yearold hunk was also displaying a spot of facial fur, which added to his chiselled look.

The latest film is based on the comic book by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller and sees Jackman’s character travel to Japan to train with a samurai fighter. The actor was spotted on set last month looking menacing in his wolf costume.

He revealed to Empire magazine he welcomed a makeover to make the character even more brutal. He said: “I had this image in my head of De Niro in that remake of Cape Fear.

You were terrified of that character from the moment he took his shirt off and you saw all the tats; you know he was this coiled spring that would rip your head off, no matter how nonchalant he acted.” Jackman added: “That’s who Wolverine is. I always thought of him as being lean, animalistic, not necessarily pretty. He has all this ‘berserkery’, and he’s terrifying when he loses all reason in blind rage.”
