SINGER-songwriter Squeeky Plus has been on the entertainment scene since he was age 10 years old, but up till now that big break has eluded him.

He believes he has that winner in his latest song, Phat Like Mud Fish. The popularity of the track has made him a favourite of dancehall fans in New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut.

“Phat Like Mud Fish is creating a big buzz right now, I did a show a few weeks ago with Baby Cham and when I performed the tune it received a huge response from the crowd. The vibes was awesome,” Squeeky Plus told the Jamaica Observer from New York, his home since 2000.

He and his management have released a music video and plan to increase promotion of Phat Like Mud Fish for the remainder of 2012.

Stokely Watson, who is a member of Squeeky Plus’s management, said the video will play a major role in the promotion.

“A lot of positive things have been happening for Squeeky’s single and this video is going to help to take things to higher level,” Watson said.

Born Kegry Murphy in East Prospect, St Thomas, Squeeky Plus started out performing in talent shows in his community.

In 2004, he and deejay Yankee released the single Stallion Crew Vol 1 which gained favourable response on the influential New York City radio station, Kiss 96.1.

Three years later, he released his first album, Let’s Dance. Though he had a tough upbringing, Squeeky Plus says he has never been tempted to go negative.

“I have been through a lot in my life, but I don’t feel the need to express it in my music,” he said.
