European Union ambassador to present on Eurozone
AMBASSADOR Paola Amadei, Head of Delegation of the European Union (EU) in Jamaica, will on Thursday make a presentation on the Eurozone.
The presentation, entitled “The Euro: myths and realities”, will be hosted by the Manchester Business School (MBS) Caribbean Alumni group at the Courtleigh Hotel in Kingston. It is part of the MBS Caribbean Alumni group’s ‘Grow Your Mind Series’, sponsored by Scotia Investments Jamaica.
MBS Caribbean Alumni said in a news release that the ambassador’s presentation will be of particular interest to executives who conduct business with the euro, organisations in the Eurozone, and traders of the currency. Ambassador Amadei will offer insights and perspectives on current and potential developments in the Eurozone that will be “of assistance to aid decision making at board level of organisations seeking to balance the risks and rewards of profitably growing their business in the Eurozone”, the school said.
As the EU grinds toward the three-year mark in its withering financial crisis, problems abound, progress is slow and 25 million people are out of work. Europe’s stumbling economy is making it harder for economies around the world to recover and international policymakers are urging more decisive action from the region’s governments to deal with the crippling debt crisis.
