ST Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) are on course for a historic three-peat after beating Kemps Hill High 3-0 in Santa Cruz on Saturday and qualifying for tomorrow’s semi-finals of the ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel Ben Francis Knock-out.

STETHS won the last two titles becoming the fourth school to win back-to-back titles after seven-time champions Cornwall College, Clarendon College and Glenmuir High. Cornwall and Glenmuir have achieved the feat twice.

Tomorrow STETHS will face Paul Bogle High in one semi-final, while Grange Hill, who are returning to the semi-finals for the first time since the 2007 season, will face last year’s beaten finalists Manchester High at Jarrett Park. Both games are set to start at 3:00 pm and will be play-to-finish encounters with the winners advancing to Saturday’s final.

On Saturday, STETHS, who had a bye in the first round, ended the hopes of first-time qualifiers Kemps Hill who had upset former champions Garvey Maceo 2-1 in the first round.

Kehsanio Hall scored twice and Jamel Sinclair got the other for STETHS on Saturday while Paul Bogle came from a goal down to beat St Mary Technical to book their place in back-to-back semi-finals.

At Kirkvine, Manchester High went to penalty kicks for the second straight game to beat Clarendon College 5-4 after they had played out a 1-1 draw after regulation and extra time.

In a drag affair at Jarrett Park, Grange Hill edged William Knibb 1-0 thanks to a seventh-minute goal from Paul Warren that went in off goalkeeper Bentley James.
