JDF march on in JAM T20 competition
THE Jamaica Defence Force made it two wins in as many matches in the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) JAM T20 competition after edging Kingston & St Andrew CA by four wickets at Up Park Camp last weekend.
Scores: KSACA 128-7 (20 overs); JDF 132-6 (19 overs)
After Kingston & St Andrew were restricted to 128-7 off their allotted 20 overs, Jermaine Harrison chipped in with 31 to help the home team to victory.
In the other second round game at the venue, Melbourne CC beat Kingston CC by five wickets.
Scores: Kingston CC 141-8 (20 overs); Melbourne CC 145-5 (18.2 overs)
At the Bog Centre in Westmoreland, St James reached 104-4 against Hanover before rain ended play prematurely.
Scores: St James 104-4 (12.4 overs)
The Westmoreland versus Trelawny clash at the same venue was washed out.
At Manley Horne playfield in St Elizabeth, two-day perennial winners Manchester defeated Clarendon by 10 wickets.
Scores: Clarendon 35 (10.3 overs); Manchester 36-0 (3.3 overs)
In the other match at Manley Horne venue, the hosts St Elizabeth beat St Catherine CA by eight wickets.
Scores: St Catherine CA 122-4; St Elizabeth 123-2
At Elletson Road, Police SC went down by eight wickets to Lucas CC.
Miguel Gordon starred for Lucas, hitting 118 not out off 66 balls, in a stroke-filled innings.
Scores: Police SC 175-2 (20 overs); Lucas 176-2 (19.2 overs)
At the same venue, St Thomas defeated Kensington CC by 77 runs.
Scores: St Thomas 186-5; Kensington 109-8
In another match, Boys’ Town beat Portmore by 43 runs at the Maxfield Park playfield.
Scores: Boys’ Town 148-7 (20 overs); Portmore 105 (16.4 overs)
GC Foster surprised defending champions St Catherine CC by five wickets, also at the Maxfield Park venue.
Scores: St Catherine 142 (19.1 overs); GC Foster 143-5 (18.2 overs)
The match between St Mary and St Ann at Jack’s River was rained out.
The encounter between the University of Technology and Mico University at Jack’s River was also not played and the result is set to be ruled on by the Competition & Complaints Committee.
Weather permitting, a full schedule of matches is expected to be played in third round action tomorrow.
