Our hearts have been warmed by the many stories of people assisting others selflessly during the passage of Hurricane Sandy on Wednesday. Although the storm was not the worst we have experienced, many people were nevertheless devastated and it will take a long time before they get back on their feet. Our heart goes out to them.

…Not so heart-warming stories

Inevitable, some might say, but there were also the stories of people who tried to exploit the weather by going into hurricane shelters, not because they needed to, but in hopes of getting food and other supplies. Did you hear of the people who took taxis and drove around looking for any sign of something being given away to hurricane-hit victims?

Shameless begging

The hatemailer has resorted to shamelessly begging for the ones who were hurt to forgive and forget, while equally shamelessly throwing under the bus the supporters who put themselves on the line in the name of friendship, including the fraudulent ones. The moral of the story is, don’t support anyone in wrongdoing.

Shenanigans and antics unveiled

People are saying that the head honcho can’t last for much longer after all the shenanigans. Thanks to a courageous whistle-blower, all his antics have been reported to the owner, who is said to be furious.

Prime Ministerial Portia

Even critics conceived that the decision by Portia Simpson Miller to cut her Canadian visit short and return to ride out Hurricane Sandy with her people was indeed prime ministerial. Kudos to the lady.

Under the table

The journalist is reported to have accepted something under the table and not even his lawyer friend can help him now. There is a word for it: Payola.
