Knights too good for Raptors
MONTEGO BAY, St James – MONTEGO Bay Cricket Club Knights firmly established themselves as the team to beat in the Hi-lyte Insport Western Basketball Association’s Men’s Basketball Championships after cruising to their seventh win on Tuesday, beating Coral Gardens Raptors 78-50 at the Montego Bay Cricket Club.
Knights out-hustled and outplayed Raptors from the start, limiting them to 15 first half points as they moved to 14 points, five more than Rockybar Ballers and Trelawny Tornadoes who are tied on nine each; Inner-city Avalanche are next on eight points followed by Raptors and William Knibb Thunder on seven each; Sav J-Hawks are on six points while Montego Bay Boys Club Warriors, Granville Wolfpack and Cornwall Courts Chargers are on five points with Muschett Cardinals on three points.
On Tuesday, Lemar Mitchell scored 15 points, Travis Anglin got 14 points and nine rebounds while Jamoi Richards scored 12 points for the winners.
Jerome Kisena, Orville Blake and Chayne Topey all scored eight points for Raptors.
Today Cornwall Courts Chargers, who have yet to win after five games, will face Sav J-Hawks at the Montego Bay Cricket Club, starting at 6:30 pm.
