High turbidity affecting St Andrew, St Catherine water supply
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Heavy rains now affecting the eastern end of island have disrupted regular water to Corporate Area customers served by the Hope Water Supply System.
According to the National Water Commission (NWC), low water pressure is impacting many communities as the system is blocked.
Among the affected areas are: August Town, Hope Road, Mona Heights, Liguanea, Mona Road, Ravinia, Gordon Town and environs, Papine, Kintyre, Hope Flats and Hope Pastures.
Additionally, St Catherine residents are also experiencing disruptions due to high turbidity.
Residents served by the Sue River Treatment Plant, Goffe Road and Glengoffe water supply systems are without regular supply.
The NWC says it is working to restore regular operations at all facilities as soon as possible.
