Shania is purr-fect in sequinned catsuit
It had been eight years since she’d performed on stage.
And Shania Twain didn’t have to utter one note before receiving a standing ovation from the first audience last Saturday. Easily defying her 47 years, the slim songbird strutted onto the stage in a glittering catsuit with metallic tiger stripe-style sequins and sexy thigh-high black boots. The five-time Grammy winner finished off her Sin City look with waist-long curly extensions and dramatic black gloves which had several dangling streamers attached at the wrists. “Thank you so much! You guys are going to get me all emotional, and then my eyelashes are going to fall off,” Twain said to the crowd, according to The Canadian Press. “This is a very overwhelming night…It’s been a lot of years for me since I’ve been here. I realise what I’ve been missing, thanks to you.”
Shania, who’s sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, had several costume changes throughout the 100-minute show — riding atop two horses, a motorcycle, and dangling on wires as she sings her hit songs That Don’t Impress Me Much, Come On Over, and You’re Still the One.
Marc Bouwer, the man behind Twain’s costumes for the past 15 years, redesigned a stage version of the leopard-print hooded robe from her That Don’t Impress Me Much music video and the black undertaker’s coat and bowler hat from Man! I Feel Like a Woman. The Canadian-bred country star was also reportedly seen wearing sparkling pink western button-down with matching cowboy boots and a glamorous long white gown as she crooned before a 13-piece band in the 4,298-seat venue.

Lady Gaga snaps up 55 of MJ’s costumes
Costumes worn by Michael Jackson commanded hundreds of thousands of dollars at auction, and Lady Gaga was among the collectors. The singer, 26, tweeted Sunday that she bought 55 pieces in the sale administered by Julien’s Auctions. She said she plans to keep the items “archived and expertly cared for in the spirit and love of Michael Jackson, his bravery and fans worldwide.”
Auctioneer Darren Julien and his team all wore wearing sequinned gloves specially made for the event.
He said afterwards that the jacket Jackson wore during his Bad tour fetched $240,000. Two of Jackson’s crystal-encrusted gloves sold for more than $100,000 each, as did other jackets and performance costumes.
The auction featuring the collection of Jackson’s longtime costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush raised more than $5 million. Some proceeds benefited Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.

Out-of-control Katt Williams
Comic Katt Williams has been arrested after allegedly threatening a bar employee with a pool cue in a brawl. He was booked into King County Jail in Seattle around 6.30pm on Sunday for investigation of harassment, assault and obstructing police, TMZ reports. He was released last Monday morning. Williams “brandished a pool cue at a bar manager and refused to leave the busines”, police sources tell the website.
He later followed a family outside of the bar and allegedly threw a cigarette at a woman as she got into her car, hitting her in the eye. He also allegedly threw a rock at the vehicle.
This behaviour follows a series of bizarre antics by Williams in recent weeks. Last week he was caught on video in Sacramento slapping a Target employee in the face. He was arrested on charges of attacking an aspiring rapper on his tour bus outside a downtown Oakland hotel last month. He was later released with no charges filed. He is also being sued over an onstage meltdown and aborted performance in Oakland. The San Francisco Chronicle reports it’s the second Alameda County lawsuit filed over Williams’ bizarre 10 minutes on stage last month at Oakland’s Oracle Arena.
