Rodman to pay $500,000 in child support

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman has been found in contempt of court and ordered to pay $500,000 in back child support to his ex-wife. The flamboyant basketball player was also sentenced to informal probation, his ex-wife’s attorney, Mary Ann Noiroux, claimed.

Orange County Superior Court Commissioner Barry Michaelson warned Rodman could face jail time if he doesn’t pay the child support, she said. Rodman and his ex-wife, Michelle, must still work out custody and visitation for their two pre-teen children, a son and a daughter. A trial is set for January 24 to decided on those issues, but the two hope to work out an agreement before the court date, Noiroux said.

Rodman, known for his facial piercings and his brightly coloured dyed hair, was ordered to perform 104 hours of community service in May after being found guilty of four counts of contempt for failure to pay child support for 2009 and 2010. He is completing that work in Florida, where he now lives. The legal battle between Rodman and his former spouse began in 2004, when Michelle Rodman filed for divorce. Rodman was a bad-boy star of the Detroit Pistons and won three NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls. He was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame last year.

It’s finally happening!

In Touch magazine is reporting that Brad, 48, and Jolie, 37, are gearing up to walk down the aisle and sent their stylist to pick up the bands. “On November 27, a stylist for the actress picked up wedding rings from Neil Lane jewellers for the couple,” the magazine reports. The bands arrived at the Jolie Pitt home just a day after Brad made it clear at the premiere of his new film, Killing Me Softly, that he planned to make an honest woman out of Angie — at the request of their children.

“I am getting more pressure from my kids, and it is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come,” the actor said at the New York premiere. “The time is nigh. It’s soon. I got a good feeling about it.”

Pitt recently told People magazine: “We’ve had a family, we’ve raised the kids.”

“I am surprised how much it meant to me once you had that.”

The couple have six children three whom they adopted — Maddox, 11, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, — and three biological children — Shiloh, 6, and 4-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

The pair’s wedding has often been speculated on with many believing they were set to marry in August this year. It was thought the pair were to tie the knot in a civil ceremony at their recently renovated multimillion dollar French estate, Chateau Miraval. Angelina has been married twice before — to British actor Jonny Lee Miller between 1996 and 1999 and then Billy Bob Thornton, from 2000 to 2003. Brad was of course married to Jennifer Aniston in what was regarded by many as a fairy tale romance.

Baby’s first picture!

Shakira and her beau Gerard Pique have shared the first picture of their baby – an ultrasound scan.

The Colombian singer and her Spanish boyfriend of nearly two years are expecting a baby boy early next year. Gerard proudly tweeted: ‘His first pic! #excited #cute.’

This is the first child for the Addicted To You singer, who emerged on the Columbian and Latin America music scene in the 1990s before making it big among the English speaking crowd in the US.

Shakira, 35, and Gerard, a Barcelona footballer 10 years her junior, announced the pregnancy in mid-September on her blog. The Hips Don’t Lie singer has been happily flaunting her growing bump ever since. On November 27, Shakira posted an adorable picture on Twitter showing her and Gerard cuddling, along with the message: “Podría estar 9 meses más así! I could have another 9 months like this! Shak.” The pair are reportedly contemplating Ulises and Biel, short for Gabriel, for the child’s name. Shakira and Gerard will likely raise their son in Barcelona, Spain where construction is underway on the singer’s new home.
