WAKEFIELD, Trelawny — Muschett High will put their unbeaten run in both sections of the ISSA/KFC Western Conference schoolboys’ basketball competition on the line this afternoon when they host Cornwall College in a double header at Wakefield, Trelawny.

While the powerful Muschett Under-16 team is expected to get the better of Cornwall College, their Under-19 team will get their toughest test of the season against the defending champions, who trail them by a point in the table, 13-14.

Muschett’s senior team will be encouraged by their big 102-24 win over Spot Valley last week, but Cornwall College have scored back-to-back wins since their upset loss at William Knibb last month.

The addition of guard Alex McFarlane, who was out due to daCosta Cup duties, will also help to boost the strength of the Cornwall team against the home team who will be full of confidence.

Meanwhile on Thursday, Spot Valley High’s Under-16 team and William Knibb’s Under-19 team scored wins to help their causes for a place in the semi-finals.

Spot Valley beat hapless William Knibb 93-7 in the Under-16 game to join leaders Muschett High on 12 points, but have completed their schedule of eight games.

William Knibb returned the favour in the Under-19 game winning 74-22 to join defending champions Cornwall College on 13 points and in second place behind Muschett’s 14 points.

In the junior game, Jhamanique Brown scored 39 points and Delton Clarke had 30, as Spot Valley spanked the Trelawny school by 86 points, the largest margin of victor y in any game in the league this season.

Spot Valley had little answer to William Knibb in the senior game, as the Trelawny school led 25-5, 42-12 and 57-18 at the intervals.

Shavaughn Reid scored 44 points for William Knibb, while Stephan Greaves scored 17.

Nickedo Campbell was the top scorer for Spot Valley with 10 points
