Man accused of assaulting child’s mother referred to restorative justice
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man accused of assaulting the mother of his child has been referred to restorative justice after appearing in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday.
Maurice Wright faces a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm stemming from an alleged altercation with the complainant.
During the hearing, presiding Judge Peter Wilson questioned Wright about how he intended to address the matter.
Wright admitted that he was responsible for the incident and told the court that he struggles with anger management.
The judge subsequently referred the case to restorative justice and ordered Wright to participate in the process.
“Make this the last woman you do this to,” Wilson warned.
Wright is scheduled to return to court on November 11, 2026.
