Retired policeman shot dead in St Andrew
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The police have confirmed that a former member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force was shot dead in Queensborough, St Andrew this morning.
He has been identified as 63-year-old Denzil Boyd, a retired deputy superintendent of Police.
According to information received, about 10:45am Boyd had just returned home from church and was having a conversation with two men when explosions were heard. Family members who reportedly went to investigate, found him lying on the roadway with gunshot wounds and alerted the police.
He subsequently died at hospital.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that his licensed firearm was stolen.
