OUR latest stop on the TEENage Observer Expression Tours was Foga Road High School in Clarendon.

This fairly young high school offered a wide collection of talents, which made for a very entertaining show.

The show kick-started with an invigorating group dance performed by the 9F Dancers, following them was the first trivia question for the day, which was answered by Donald Thomas.

Up next were Rodrick Baker, Shana Kay Henry and Shantel Gallimore singing Adele’s Don’t You Remember.

Another trivia question followed. After many failed attempts by the students to answer correctly, it was Rashyvia Edwards who finally came up with the correct answer.

Andreen Smith was next on stage with an original poetry piece entitled Mi Hungry. She had the crowd and the judges in fits of laughter at the end her performance.

Following the trend another trivia question was asked; Shemar Ricketts won the prize for this one. Up next was a solo dance piece performed by Shanae Simpson. This was followed by another trivia question, which was answered by teacher, Florette Howe.

Afterwards, the duo Monique and Shania sang their lovely piece and DJ Hammond rocked the crowd with his performance.

Renardo Morgan and Crew gave the first instrumental piece for the show. With a single drum the boys doled out a variety of beats, which were well received by the crowd.

Then came the much-anticipated Cool Fruit Drink-off competition, which saw Ricardo Campbell victorious after he downed his two boxes of Cool Fruit in mere seconds.

After the drink-off DJ Monique Maylor ignited the crowd with her lyrics and made quite an impact on the judges as well.

There was a teacher drink-off, which saw Leonie Bennett Baker, Seon Cope, Donalin Williams and the eventual winner Tayvonne Hopkins participating.

Kishell Davis was next up to perform, but was unfortunately overcome with stage fright and didn’t finish her performance.

The Human Jukeboxes, however, filled their time and the remainder of hers with their lengthy, but entertaining performance. Adding a little culture to the show, was Don-ah Dunkley with her performance of Love Letter by Louise ‘Miss Lou’ Bennett.

Imani Rodney and Alicia Nicholson followed with their version of Miley Cyrus’ The Climb. Following was Bernadine Barrett singing Give Me You by Tamia then Sashskya Bailey, who performed Jah Vinci’s Mama Love.

A break in the steady stream of singing came with Kymani Menzie, who gave us a little taste of his rapping talent. Afterwards, Shanae Givans and Samantha Hitchman performed Roots and Someone Like You, respectively.

Member of staff, Alexander Francis decided to treat the crowd to a little gospel in a special performance. An impromptu modelling competition was also held, which ended in a tie between Wendeen Whyte and Shanae Simpson

The final performance for the talent show was given by the Timeless Dancers. They were obviously a crowd favourite as the energy and noise level immediately went up when they took the stage.

Guest artiste Droop Lion gave a spectacular performance for the crowd as the judges tallied up the scores and chose the winners.

In third-place was Andreen Smith, who had performed Mi Hungry. Second-place went to DJ Monique Maylor. First place and a chance to perform at the Expression Tours Finals in July went to the Timeless Dancers.
