Hyde rubbishes resignation claims, reaffirms commitment to Dinthill Technical
Lenworth “Lenny” Hyde has refuted reports that he has resigned from his head coaching position at Dinthill Technical High School, threatening to sue bloggers who he claims are spreading false information.
Hyde, who led Dinthill Technical to the semi-final in his first year in 2025, told the Jamaica Observer that he is still very much in charge of the school’s football programme.
“I need to sue some of these bloggers. I don’t know where him get this from,” said Hyde, responding to a social media post.
One of the most successful schoolboy coaches, hyde joined Dinthill in June 2025 after a stellar stint with Clarendon College, where he won four daCosta Cup and four Olivier Shield titles.
He was a mercurial schoolboy player who led Clarendon College to its first title in 1977 and repeated in 1978. The Clarendon School was dethroned in 1979 by Dinthill Technical, which again won in 1981.
But it has been 45 years since the St Catherine-based team tasted success and, according to Hyde, he is back to help them over the hump after coming close last year.
