Bolt, Blake for IAAF World Challenge 4×100
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Sprint giants Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake will run on a sprint relay team from the Racer’s Track club at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Challenge on June 27.
The two were confirmed for the event by the meet’s organisers today, the IAAF said.
Bolt, named Laureus World Sportsman for the third time this week, will be running for the seventh time at the meet in the Czech Republic.
“I’m looking forward to running the 4x100m in Ostrava this year. It will be my seventh time to compete in the Golden Spike meeting and my first time to run the relay there. The meeting is only a few days after the Jamaican Championships and the relay fits nicely into my competition programme,” Bolt told the IAAF.
The team should be completed by two other athletes from the Racers Track Club, confirmed Glen Mills, coach of both Bolt and Blake.
The two are part of the Jamaican quartet that set a new 4X100m world record of 36.84 seconds at the London Games last year.
