Records tumble early on Champs day 4
KINGSTON, Jamaica- Three records were broken and one equalled, all in the sprint hurdles at this morning’s ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships under cool conditions at the national stadium.
Kingston College’s Omar McLeod clocked 13.42 seconds in the semi-finals, to beat the old time of 13.53 seconds set in 2007 by Keiron Stewart, setting up a big clash with Jamaica College’s Tyler Mason in Saturdays final.
St Andrew High’s Rushelle Burton ran 11.27 seconds to break the Class 3 80m hurdles mark of 11.33 seconds held by Kareecia Thompson since 1996, while Camperdown High School’s Peta Gaye Williams, broke Latoya Greaves’ record set in 2003, when she ran 13.38 seconds.
