Damion Reid is MVP Western Confed Super League
MONTEGO BAY , St James – WADADAH FC’s Damion Reid was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the just concluded Jamaica Football Federation’s (JFF) Captain’s Bakery and Grill Western Confederation Super League at last Friday’s awards ceremony held at Jamaica Grandiosa Hotel.
Wadadah FC who beat Reno on penalty kicks in the finals before finishing third in the JFF Confederation play-offs, missing a place in the Premier League next season, took home four individual awards.
Triston Bernard was named the best goalkeeper, schoolboy Alex McFarlane was named the best defender while Daniel Ricketts was the winning coach.
The St James club was also presented with the championship trophy and $150,000 first prize award. Reno took home the $75,000 runners-up prize; Tomorrow’s People were presented $50,000 for third and Granville FC $30,000 for fourth.
Holland United’s Romaine Lewis won two awards — top goal scorer and best striker while Tomorrow’s People’s Gregory Tape was named the best midfielder.
Relegated Catherine Hall won the Fair
