CAC team to Mexico named
KINGSTON Jamaica — Eight national senior champions from the recent JAAA/Supreme Ventures National Senior Trials have been included in Jamaica’s 46 member team to the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships (CAC) Championships to be held in Morelia, Mexico this weekend July 5 to7.
Natoya Goule who won the women’s 800m while setting a new personal best and IAAF World Championships A qualifying standard of 1 minute 59.93 seconds, leads the women team that includes former Commonwealth Games champion Sheri-Ann Brooks, Aleen Bailey and 800m runner Bobby-GayeWilkins-Gooden who returned from a two year drugs ban last year.
National senior champions Wilbert Walker, O’Dayne Richards, Chad Wright, Orin Powell and Jowayne Hibbert are on the men’s team that also includes former two-time IAAF World Junior champion Dexter Lee.
