Man in custody after parts of Glock pistol found
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man is now in custody after police recovered parts of a Glock pistol in the community of Orange Villa, downtown Kingston earlier this week.
The man, said to be a relative of a former national footballer, was not identified by the police.
Cops from the Kingston Central Police Division say they were on an operation in the area when they noticed the man acting suspiciously.
According to the police they attempted to accost the man but the he ran into a house in the community and locked himself inside a room.
The police kicked in the door and upon searching the room an extended magazine and a large quantity of ammunition were found.
The cops also found another part of the pistol known as the slide.
The man was taken into custody and will be brought before the court to answer a charge of illegal possession of a firearm.
The rest of the pistol was not found.
