It’s official
Renowned Jamaican comedian Oliver Samuels on the Caribbean International Network (CIN) float at the West Indian Labour Day parade 1999. CIN has been chosen as the official television channel for this year’s parade. The day-long event draws over two million revellers each year and is considered one of the largest parades in the entire USA. Under the theme “Celebrate Our Caribbean Pride and Culture”, the biggest expression of Caribbean-ness in North America will mark the event’s 46th anniversary. “Since our first broadcast 20 years ago we have supported the parade through our participation, programmes and sponsorship. Those who line the parkway are our neighbours and viewers. We are one community,” said Stephen Hill, CIN’s CEO. CIN, which started in 1993 with a single ‘Oliver Live’ half hour, has become a trusted presenter of culture and information programmes, linking those living abroad and with programmes from home.
