WHITEHOUSE, Westmoreland RESORT staff from Sandals Whitehouse European Village and Spa paid a lunchtime visit to the Savanna-la-Mar Infirmary last Saturday, treating some 90 residents and staff members to lunch and gifts of towels, sheets, curtains and blankets. visitors as music played in the wards. One of the patients, Winnifred Mitchener expressed her gratitude to everyone by delivering a meaningful prayer and pointing out to the volunteers that their kindness will never go unnoticed.

Beverly Barrett, one of the ward assistants at the infirmary, thanked the volunteers immensely for their efforts. “The team arrived just as it started to rain in torrents but that didn’t stop them from delivering 33 meals to the female patients in their area and moving over to the male section to deliver another 47 meals and an additional 10 for the staff members here,” she said. “The experience was really a breath of fresh air.”
