High-riding Ascot face tough Hydel test
GROUP A leaders Ascot High will look to maintain their perfect start to the 2013 ISSA/lime Manning Cup football competition when they travel to the Caymanas playing field to battle last season’s finalists Hydel High.
Ascot have nine points after three matches, while Hydel lie in second
place with seven points after two wins
and a draw.
Also in Group A, third-place Calabar High (six points), who suffered a shock 0-1 loss to Ascot a week ago, visit Edith Dalton James High (four). At Bumper Hall, the hosts St Andrew Technical and Jonathan Grant – both without a point — will
lock horns.
In Group B, top team Excelsior High (nine points) welcome second-place Norman Manley High (seven) to Mountain View Avenue and St Jago High (four) entertain Haile Selassie High (three) at the Spanish Town Prison Oval. In the other Group B game, Portmore rivals Cumberland High (zero) and Waterford High (three) battle on the latter’s home turf.
Free-scoring Jamaica College, who have 15 goals in three outings to lead Group E with nine points, host Jose Marti Technical (seven) at their Old Hope Road base, while Bridgeport (seven) welcome Ardenne High (three). At the Edward Seaga Sports Complex, the lowly duo of Tivoli Gardens High and St Andrew College will be fighting to get off the mark.
In Group G, leaders Holy Trinity High, who have maximum nine points from three matches, tackle St Mary’s College (three) at the Bell Chung Oval, cellar team Meadowbrook High (one) welcome Trench Town High and Innswood High (three) entertain Campion College (one) at Chedwin Park.
All matches are set to commence at 3:30 pm.
